Locally Owned & Operated
The Framing Nook is a locally owned family business, which has been in operation for over 15 yrs in the Red Deer area. We have over 35 years experience in photography & custom framing. We have won several international framing awards, and we look forward to using our design expertise & quality craftsmanship to provide you with your framing needs, and we will back that with a complete customer satisfaction warranty.



The Team
We are locally owned by husband & wife team, Brian & Janice Rypstra. Brian oversees the day to day operation as well as serves clients on a daily basis, whereas Janice assists with management & training. Currently our full-time staff consists of a cheerful employee, Joanne Kuharski, who has been undergoing extensive training as a Custom Picture Framing Specialist for over a year. Our daughter, Brenda, also has picture framing experience & has been called upon to fill in from time to time.



Training

As a staff, we are constantly upgrading our knowledge and abilities through various means of education. This includes, but is not limited to: reading of trade magazines, trade publications, participating in professional picture framing forums, attending international trade shows & conventions, taking classes from leading industry experts, and participating in local business workshops & lectures.
